Economic Diary for week ending 2nd November

We have an important week ahead of in terms of economic data. This starts in proper on Wednesday, with a good spread of key figures being released, including the FOMC interest rate decision. We are an hour ahead this week as the US move their clocks back on the 4th November. Make a special note of this if you are looking to join Kevin in the trading room for the FOMC announcement on Wednesday, or it will be all over before you get there!

Economic Diary for week ending 26th October 2007

It is a quiet week ahead in terms of economic reports for both the UK and US.

In the US we have the Durable goods orders report which can be very variable. The core figure is the most important as it excludes the transportation element. This gives us an idea as to how strong demand is for goods that have a life expectancy of greater than 3 years. Any growth here will be a positive for both currency and equities.

Economic diary for week ending 19th October

It is inflation week again, with the US, Euro and UK inflation figures all be released for September. It has been forecast that the US core rate will stay flat at plus 0.2% for the month and the UK headline rate to move up a tenth to 1.9%. Any significant change to these figures may result in increased volatility in both the currency and equity markets.

The first copy of this got wiped somehow, so here it is again, plus I have addded next mondays….

The most significant reports this week are the interest rate statements from the European Central Bank and Bank of England due on Thursday, followed by the US employment report which is due of Friday.
