Economic diary for week ending 3rd August

We have a busy week ahead with some key data due to be released. The week starts quietly but gets into pace from Tuesday afternoon when we see the US Core Personal Consumption Expenditures report. This measures the rate of inflation realized by the consumer excluding food and energy. It gives us a much better idea of the level inflation realized by individual consumers and tends to be the Federal Reserves favoured measure for inflation.

Economic diary for weekending 27th July

It is a much quieter week ahead for the UK and US market from an economic report point of view. Of course there is a great deal of emphasis on the property figures at the moment, particularly in the US.

Key figures are the US durable goods and US GDP. The former can be extremly variable from month to month, thus the core figure is more important which ignores orders for aircraft etc. Eyes will be on Friday’s US GDP fgure, which measures the amount of growth in an economy.

Economic diary for week ending 20th July 2007

There is no shortage of key economic news this week. Kick-off starts on Tuesday with the UK’s inflation figures and finishes with the first look at the UK’s GDP figure for the second quarter on Friday.

 We have both the UK and US interest rate meeting minutes which will give us plenty to read in those wee small hours, or in the evening whilst the rain falls!

Economic Diary for week ending 13th July

It is the quietest week of the month in terms of economic results due out this week. As such, we may see a greater emphasis put on various speeches being made by key central bank figures. We have the US FOMC Ben Bernanke speaking at 18:00 today and potentially the Governor of the Bank of Japan on Thursday.

Economic diary for week ending 6th July

The week starts relatively quietly with just the US manufacturing index out later today. We then have to wait until Thursday and Friday for all the action and boy do we get some. Starting with the Bank of England interest rate decision and ending with the US employment report.
